Ingredients

  • To make masala
  • Onion - 1 no finely chopped
  • Garlic - 6 cloves
  • Ginger - 1 no. Chopped
  • Green chili - 2 nos finely chopped
  • Red chilies - 8 nos. Soaked
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Water

To marinate the chicken

  • Chicken - 1 kg
  • Rock salt - 1 tsp
  • Juice of one lemon
  • Ground masala paste

To make chicken Tawa

  • Gingelly oil - 3 tbsp
  • Curry leaves
  • Marinated chicken
  • Coriander powder - 2 tsp
  • Pepper powder - 1 1/2 tsp
  • Water - 1/2 cup

Method

  1. Soak the red chilies in water for 1 hour
  2. In a mixer jar, add onions, ginger, garlic, green chili, soaked red chilies, turmeric powder and grind it into a fine paste
  3. To the chicken pieces, add salt, lemon juice, and the ground masala and mix well
  4. Marinate the chicken for 1 hr
  5. Heat a Tawa pour oil ( coconut or gingelly ) add a few curry leaves
  6. Add the marinated chicken, add salt, pepper, coriander powder and cook until done.
  7. Add coriander leaves once the chicken is cooked.
  8. Garnish with curry leaves and serve hot
