Clam Chowder Recipe (serves 4):

1 can whole clams
1 can minced clams

  1. separate the meat from juice, set aside.
  2. 2 strips chopped bacon
  3. cook until brown, then add
  4. 3 tbsp unsalted butter
    • 1/2 diced onion
    • 2 cloves minced garlic
    • 1 tsp old bay seasoning
    • 1/2 tsp thyme
    • 1 tsp kosher salt
  5. melt and then add
  6.    saute for another minute.Then add 4 tbsp flour to thicken
      • 1 cup clam juice
      • 1 cup whole milk
      • 2 cups cubed russet potatoes
      • 1 cup chopped celery
  7. while stirring add
  8. bring to a boil, cover, and simmer on low heat for 15 minutes until potatoes are tender. Stir occasionally
  9. add 3/4 cups whole milk and
  10. the clam meat
  11. stir and bring back to a boil.
  12. serve in bread bowl
  13. garnish with parsley and oyster crackers.
