5 cups tomatoes , cut into quarters
1 tbsp sugar
1/4 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp salt

For Spices in strainer
10 mm stick cinnamon (dalchini)
2 cloves (laung / lavang)
1/2 tsp coarsely crushed peppercorns
2 garlic cloves (lehsun)

1. Combine the tomatoes and the prepared spices in stariner in the pressure cooker and pressure cook for 3 whistles.
2. Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid, remove the spices from the tomato mixture and discard it.
3. Cool the tomato mixture slightly and blend it in a mixer till smooth.
4. Strain the puree using a strainer.
5. Transfer the tomato puree into a deep non-stick pan, add the sugar, chilli powder and salt, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 14 to 17 minutes or till it coats the back of the spoon, while stirring occasionally. Cool completely.
6. Once cooled, serve Tomato ketchup/ tomato sauce with snacks and Enjoy!
